PLEASE READ THIS NOTICE. IT CONSTITUTES PART OF YOUR CONTRACT FOR TRAVEL RELATED SERVICES. PLEASE CHECK YOUR DOCUMENTS WHEN YOU RECEIVE THEM. CALL FAR HORIZONS IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.
NOT INCLUDED IN TRIP COST: Air fare (unless noted otherwise); meals and beverages not stated in trip itineraries; immunizations; passport or visa fees and necessary photos; travel insurance; excess baggage charges; airport taxes, medical, hospitalization or evacuation costs; gratuities to guides and drivers; laundry and other personal items.
LATE CHARGES: Penalty Fee will accrue if we have not received the completed and signed registration form at least one month prior to departure. Penalty fees will also accrue if we do not receive your final payment on or before the date indicated on your invoice. We reserve the right to cancel you from the trip if your final payment is not received.
EXTRA SERVICES: Though Far Horizons is happy to assist with extra services in your tour destination country(s), a surcharge will be levied should the arrangements be requested and finalized less than one month prior to departure or in country.
SURCHARGES: Far Horizons reserves the right to increase the tour price in the event of cost increases due to changes in airfares, currency fluctuations, entry fee increases, taxes and/or fuel surcharges.
CANCELLATIONS: Any cancellation received in writing 75 days prior to departure will result in a cancellation fee of $250.00 per person. Cancellations received after 75 days prior to the starting date, including cancellations due to fear of travel from actual or threatened terrorism events, will not receive a refund. Far Horizons reserves the right to cancel a trip (or levy a surcharge) due to inadequate signups. All payments will be refunded should we cancel a trip.
RESPONSIBILITY: Far Horizons Archaeological and Cultural Trips, Inc. (its owners, outfitters, agents, and employees) (FH) give notice that they act only as the agent for the owners, contractors, and suppliers providing travel services and accommodations, and assume no responsibility or liability for injury, loss or damage to person or property in connection with any service resulting directly or indirectly from any defect in any vehicle, or through neglect or default of any company or person engaged in carrying out the tour or other purpose. In the event it becomes necessary or advisable for the comfort or well being of the passengers, for any reasons whatsoever, to alter the itinerary or arrangements, such alterations may be made without penalty to the tour operators. Additional expenses, if any, shall be borne by the passengers. Far Horizons shall not be responsible for any injuries, losses or damages in connection with terrorist activities, social or labor unrest, mechanical or structural integrity of air, sea, and ground transportation and accommodations, diseases, local laws, terrorists acts, climatic conditions, Acts of God, delays, changes or cancellation of travel due to weather conditions, hotel services, accidents or health related problems before or while in-transit to (e.g., an accident on the way to a tour), during, and after a tour, or any other actions, omissions, or conditions outside of Far Horizons' control. Baggage is at owner's risk at all times. By embarking upon his/her travel, the traveler voluntarily assumes all risks involved in such travel, whether expected or unexpected. Traveler is hereby warned of the above risks as well as possible travel industry bankruptcies and medical and climatic disruptions, and the possibility traveler may be unable to travel as scheduled because of personal emergency. We are not responsible for failure of passengers to obtain necessary documentation or health regulations and insurance. Far Horizons reserves the right to decline to accept or to retain as a member of any tour any person at any time.
AIRLINE CLAUSE: The airlines are not to be held responsible for any act, omission or event during the time passengers are not onboard their planes or conveyance. The passage contract in use by the airlines concerned, when issued, shall constitute the sole contract between the airlines and such purchasers of these tours and/or passengers. Such conveyance, etc. is subject to the laws of the countries involved.
NOTE ON AIR TICKETING: Be prepared to commit to travel dates as early as possible. When a tour includes international flights from the United States, Far Horizons normally contracts with an airline for the most cost effective and logistically desirable flights. Contracted group flights are normally confirmed at an advantageous rate, and in order to maintain this rate, air carriers require a minimum number of passengers in a group. In order to maintain this minimum number and not jeopardize this group rate, we strongly encourage all participants to take advantage of our group flights. For those who do not want the international flights included in the cost of the trip, we offer a limited number of Air Credits on each trip. The Air Credit is a courtesy discount for our clients and does not reflect actual ticket pricing. Should you decide to take the Air Credit for your trip, you are responsible for all your flight arrangements and transportation (including airport transfers) to join the group. If you issue your own international flight tickets, please send us the complete schedule as soon as you have it. If Far Horizons must change the trip dates or cancel the trip for any reason, Far Horizons is not responsible for any air ticket you may have purchased.
NOTE ON SINGLE SUPPLEMENT: I understand that Far Horizons will make every attempt to find a roommate when requested, but if one is not found that I will be charged the single supplement. Additionally, Far Horizons will make every effort to ensure that those registrants requesting a single room actually receive one but will not be responsible for single rooms not available upon arrival.
I have read and understand all the literature describing the program and am aware that no travel is without risk. In the event of illness or accident, I understand that FAR HORIZONS ARCHAEOLOGICAL AND CULTURAL TRIPS, INC. (FH) will make every effort to reach the person listed under "emergency contact," but give my permission for emergency medical treatment as required if such notification is impossible or impractical under the circumstances. I understand FH will make every effort to minimize the risks inherent, but that FH cannot guarantee against circumstances over which it has little or no control. I agree that upon advancement of deposit to FH I will be bound to the conditions and terms recited above, and agree that FH will not be held responsible for accidental injury, death, or other damage to anyone arising out of activities related to this trip, and I hereby agree to reimburse FH or any agent thereof fully for any costs or loss to them resulting from such occurrence not covered by insurance. I agree that any disagreements will be settled in the county of Marin, State of California, where FH is located. I have read and accept the above conditions and those stated in the trip brochure and would like to reserve my space on the trip. I understand that my signature below indicates agreement with the above policies, and I further understand that if I should not be able to complete the tour for any reason that FH will not reimburse any fees, and that trip cancellation insurance is strongly advised.
Upon signature below, the undersigned authorizes Far Horizons Archaeological and Cultural Trips, Inc. to charge the cost of the tour services ordered by the undersigned on any and all card numbers presented, either in writing or verbally, from this date forward. Such purchases may be made without inserting the signature of the undersigned on the credit card charge form or other similar documents accepted by the issuer of said credit card.
