Dr Jeremy Coltman

Jeremy Coltman holds a doctorate in anthropology from the University of California, Riverside. His doctoral research and dissertation focused on the great site of Chichen Itza in Yucatan, Mexico where he continues to be actively involved in research.

In addition to numerous articles and book chapters on the visual cultures of ancient Mesoamerica, Coltman has co-edited the volumes Sorcery in Mesoamerica and East Meets West: Chichen Itza, Tula, and the Postclassic Mesoamerican World. He is also co-editor of the forthcoming The World of Ancient Maya Scribes and Artists. His most recent research has been supported by a grant from the American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS) and a fellowship from Dumbarton Oaks in Washington D.C. He currently serves as Lecturer in anthropology at the University of California, Riverside.
