Egypt — Which Egypt Speaks to You

Egypt, Three Ways

One Country. Three Journeys Into Its Oldest Story.

Over the next year, Far Horizons is leading three distinct trips to Egypt — each built around the same depth of scholarship and access, each answering a different question about what draws you there.

Egypt Eclipse

Witness a Total Solar Eclipse Over the Nile

For a few minutes next July, the sky over the Nile will go dark at midday as a total solar eclipse passes directly overhead. Far Horizons has chartered our own private dahabiya for this departure alone, so every guest aboard is here for the same reason — to watch totality from the river itself, not a crowded shore.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime departure: the eclipse’s path crosses the Nile only this once, in our lifetimes, and this trip will not run again.

Everything else about the journey — the scholarship, the access, the small private group — is what you already expect from Far Horizons. What makes this trip singular is the sky.

Two more journeys to Egypt this year, built with the same depth of access and scholarship as the eclipse departure.

Oases of Egypt

The Western Desert’s oases — medieval towns, hot springs, and salt lakes reached along the old caravan routes. A quieter, less-traveled Egypt even repeat travelers haven’t seen.
